Finally, as my feet recover from the ‘MWC syndrome’ (all you MWC goers will know what this is), I sat down to share my observations at this year’s Mobile World Congress. Hosted in March for a change, as compared to the usual chillier February, this year’s MWC was another spectacular, larger than ever, dazzling show – well done GSMA!

Big Data still sexy despite landmines!
Yesterday I attended a seminar in London, organised by Cambridge Wireless (a technology industry forum). The topic of this seminar was how Big Data has made analytics sexy. Hosted by Eversheds – the law firm, in their beautiful office overlooking St Paul’s Cathedral, there were some critical angles to Big Data that people discussed.
What I found out about OTT dynamics in China
Here in the West, we hear a lot about the challenges posed by the OTTs to the telecom operators. While there are various ways in which operators here are trying to deal with this problem, I wondered what our colleagues are doing in the vast and buzzing land of China.
